As insecurity, marginalization, and underdevelopment continue to weigh heavily on many parts of Southern Kaduna, particularly in Zango Kataf and Jaba Federal Constituency, the need for purposeful and courageous leadership has never been more urgent. In this time of great uncertainty, Privilege Magazine is proud to spotlight a man whose service, character, and capacity stand as a beacon of hope for the people — Brigadier General Simon Gora Katunku (Rtd).
From Ungwan Waje in the green fields of Zango Kataf to the peaceful communities of Duniya Gida in Jaba, the people yearn not merely for representation, but for results — security that is lasting, opportunities that are real, and leadership that is proactive, not performative.
Across once-thriving villages such as Madakiya, Kamuru Ikulu, Ankung, Fadan Kaje, and Chori, stories of displacement, fear, and abandonment are far too common. Youth in Zuturung Kuda, Samban Gida, and Kamalak remain underserved, gifted with potential but starved of platforms. Women in Fadan Daji whisper prayers of safety for their children each night. Our land is rich — but our people suffer.
What we need now is not just a politician — we need a protector. A planner. A patriot.
Enter Brig. Gen. Simon Gora Katunku (Rtd) — a native son, a decorated military officer, and a proven leader. With a distinguished career in the Nigerian Army, Gen. Katunku brings not just titles, but tested experience in crisis management, strategic planning, and community stabilization.
During his years of military service, he served with discipline, humility, and honor, commanding with clarity and compassion. His leadership saved lives, protected territories, and built cohesion in tense environments. These qualities now make him uniquely suited to tackle the pressing realities facing Zango Kataf and Jaba today — especially the escalating insecurity and lack of federal presence in areas like Gidan Maga, Gora Gan, Kamanton, and Ungwan Galadima.
Beyond security, Gen. Katunku’s agenda is anchored in youth empowerment, education reform, agricultural innovation, and infrastructure development — pillars that can transform the constituency from dependency to dignity. He speaks the language of peace but moves with the precision of a strategist.
Whether listening to elders in Samaru Kataf, dialoguing with farmers in Zonzon, supporting entrepreneurs in Bitaro, or inspiring youth in Sabon Gida Nok, Katunku leads from the front. His campaign is rooted not in promises, but in purpose.
